Paneer Jalebi Recipe
An authentic dessert recipe that is very popular across North Indians, Paneer Jalebi is an amazingly tasty dish that you can make for your family and friends at special events and festivals. If you are bored of eating normal jalebis, you can try your hands at this mouth-watering dessert recipe, which is easy-to-make.
This jalebi recipe uses cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, and milk, and then deep-fried. The best thing about this tasty lip-smacking dish is that it has the flavor of saffron and cardamom powder, with which you will have a melt-in-mouth experience. Match it with vanilla ice cream in the summertime for a gastronomical enjoyment!
Ingredients of Paneer Jalebi: -
- Cottage cheese(paneer) crumbled – 300 gm
- Baking soda ½ Teaspoon
- Baking Powder ¼ Teaspoon
- Sugar 1 cup
- Green Cardamom powder ¼ Teaspoon
- Ghee to deep fry
- Saffron a few strands
- Corn flour ¼ cup
- Pistachio silvers to garnish
- Refined flour 2 Tablespoons
How to make Paneer Jalebi
Boil water in a deep-bottomed container over high flame and mix in sugar. Mix until sugar melts completely. Put in a pinch of green cardamom powder and let the syrup boil. Mix for a while and add in the saffron. Once the syrup is of one line consistency, switch off the flame.
Now, take a dough plate and add all-purpose flour to baking powder, cardamom powder, and cottage cheese.
Take the little amount of cottage cheese batter and make a thick-long thread-like structure from it. Wind the dough into a round motion of about two rounds and leave equal space between every round. Repeat the method until all the dough is finished.
Next, put a kadhai on high flame and heat oil in it. When the oil is warm enough, smoothly place these jalebis in the kadhai and deep fry till golden in color. Once the jalebi is ready, dip it in the prepared sugar-cardamom syrup. Keep the syrup pan away and cover it with a lid.
After a few hours, set a pan on average flame, heat the syrup with soaked jalebis for 2-4 minutes, and then turn off the flame. Cover the pan with a lid again for half an hour and then open it; you will observe the jalebis have become more significant in size.
